Map of the seven-state footprint showing 104 air medical bases and their response coverage

Meridian.Where the next base should go, and should not.

An interactive siting and coverage tool for air medical programs. 104 bases located and attributed across seven states, 565 counties scored for demand, payer environment and access to definitive care, and a break-even model that says plainly where it stops being reliable.

What it is

A map you can interrogate, not a map you look at.

Meridian puts the footprint, the demand and the economics in one place, so a siting question can be answered rather than argued. Every figure traces to the public file it came from, and the page is entirely self-contained: once it has loaded it makes no network requests at all, so a blocked CDN or a corporate proxy cannot break it in front of a board.

Model validation

A model that says do not build here, and here is why, is worth more than one that guesses confidently.

What it answers

Four questions, with the working shown.

01

Where is the demand

County-level transport demand built from public claims, census and registry data, with the traps named: Medicare fee-for-service now misses more than half of Medicare, and ambulance claims key to billing address rather than transport origin.

02

Who already covers it

Every base located and attributed to its operator, with response coverage drawn and the overlaps between competing programs made explicit.

03

Does the economics hold

Break-even volume against the base's fixed operating cost, validated against an independent actuarial study rather than against the data that built it.

04

And does it pay the owner

Operating break-even is zero profit. The volume that also covers the capital, the aircraft replacement and the owner's return is a different and larger number, and it is usually the one nobody has run.
